Sunday Flea Finds

We did pretty well at the flea market this morning.
The last couple Sundays it as been rained out,
so it was super busy today.

The quilt was packing in some guys pickup,
but he agreed to sell it to me for a big $2.

I paid $40 for all the Christmas stuff,
but I usually do well with holiday items.

Nice firkin for $15 which needs a little work.

This was my husband's "find", we live near the old Frisco line.

Olive green mason jar, which always do well on ebay.
Bought for $4, sold for $26.

Wildlife & Wildflowers

I saw two of these little cuties in one day,
so we must have many of them.

I should know the name of these.
I planted them a year ago,
and they have spread like crazy.

 All of these flowers,
and no honey bees:(

This is my husband's huge wildflower patch,
which is starting to be a showstopper.

Pics For The Grandson's Book

We just made a photo board book for my Grandson's birthday.
Entitled: "Some Of My Favorite Things".
The pic above is for the cover.

We made one for Christmas that had all of his family members,
along with their names.
And no, he isn't even talking yet.
I forget if we got to insert 10 or 12 photos.
We tried to keep it pretty basic, like "COW".

DOG (neighbor Izzy).

We did it through Pinhole Press.
It wasn't cheap, but it was nice to have pics of personal items and animals.

This way he will always remember Grandpa Chuck's TRACTOR
and our senior citizen CATS.

Ephemera From A $4 Scrapbook

We were pretty busy last weekend, getting ready for our sale.
But my husband managed to get to a yard sale and buy an old scrapbook for $4.
It really was tattered and in shreds, but you would be too if you were 120 years old.

Some stuff was glued down, and some just loose.
These are five trade cards for "Swift's Beef Extract".
Sold for $5.

Another trade card, which was a great advertising ploy.
Children and adults collected trade cards,
there wasn't much colored printing going on back then.
Sold for $5.

This advertised typewriters manufactured in Omaha.
Sold for $52.

 1901 Singer Sewing Machine calendar.
Sold for $10.

 Booklet with litho flowers.
Sold for $5.

 Diecut greeting cards,
most published by Raphael Tuck & Sons.
Most of the stuff in the scrapbook dated between 1895- 1910.
Sold for $10.

All of these will be on ebay in the next few weeks.

Lots Of Old Doll Heads

We had a busy weekend with the home sale.
But I still managed to buy a box of old doll heads.

Almost all of them had had some damage.
But they will make some awesome Halloween projects.

I love me some doll bits and bobs.

Daylilies & Butterflies At Our House

I mentioned before that we have alot of tiny butterflies
at our house called "blues".
They congregate on anything damp.
He has a bad case of the blues.

This barrel also has a bad case of the blues.
Everywhere you look, a bad case of the blues.

And a couple of my day lilies that have bloomed....

I think daylilies are my favorite
(until something else starts to bloom.)

Inside Set Up At Vintage Home Sale

I have wanted to have a vintage sale at our house since
the first of May.  All I needed was a Thursday,
Friday and Saturday without rain.
Good luck with that.

This weekend is bookended with rain.
Rain Thursday morning, and Saturday night.
But it is the best we have had it in weeks.

So I am taking the plunge.
I am calling it a "Summer Solstice Vintage Sale"
because we are opening Friday night from 6-8 pm,
and Saturday 7-10 am.

Most of the "smalls" are inside,
and already set up.

Only a few pieces of furniture will need to be
dragged outside before we start.
Any "weatherproof" furniture is already out there.

I am having three loose "themes" inside:
birds, western, patriotic.

And plenty of patriotic vignettes outisde.
(Tune in tomorrow for pics of the outside.)

As usual, plenty of dollar items inside and out.

Blue Hearts & The End Of My Blog

Early on during the corona virus, I did this project. When we put scalloped wood trim on the guest cottage door, we had some of the trim ...
