Rose Of Sharon Bush


 We planted this bush early this spring
(after letting it sit in a container all winter.)
I was surprised that it lived,
and even more surprised when it bloomed last week.

The yellow butterfly just visited for a micro-second.
I didn't think there was any chance I actually caught him --
but there he was!

  1. I love the old fashioned flowers and bushes our grandmothers also had in their gardens. They have a special place in my heart!
    Wouldn't that purple be a wonderful color for a front door?

    1. This is the first one i have ever had. Although, i bought 6 for a friend of my son who got married, and even planted them for the new couple.

    1. Maybe it looks bigger because the bush is so tiny. I couldn't believe it bloomed.
