St Joseph Antique Show Booth

My husband and I were vendors in the St Joseph Antique Show over the weekend.

We brought some personal antiques which we have enjoyed for decades, but we are getting our house ready to sell and clearing things out...like this shoe sign which has been hanging on our back porch. And the little girl "Meditation" lithograph print on the left which has graced our stairway.

It was fun visiting with old friends and making some new ones.  Here I am with my friends Kelly and Dean.  Their family has befriended us since we moved to the area 30 years ago. They had a booth across from us.

Very happy with over $2400 worth of sales.  But a little sad that this is our last St Joseph Antique Show, as it will be too far to pack everything from our new location.

My Booth At The Platte City MO Antique Show

Last weekend I was a vendor at the Platte City Antique Show.  It is a great show, I knew because I had done it a number of years ago.  I was thrilled to have an invitation extended to me to participate this year -- we are clearing out merchandise and some of our personal collections.

I sold this antique oil painting (paid $5 for it, sold for $35)
and the stone vase on the right
(paid $5,sold for $18).
I wish I could make a list of the type of items that are selling
right now, but I am always surprised myself.

I am selling my Chase's Candy Company collection.
This box did not sell, but two antique Chase's plates did.
The great chippy pot and pot holder on the left also sold.

I think I will have to lower my prices on the transferware
and the 48 star flag.

Jar, candle holder and walnut trunk they were sitting on, all sold.
Paid $1 for gallon jar in carrier, sold for $16.
Paid $2 for candleholder, sold for $14.

In the past I have done very well with original art work.
Not so much this show.

Mid-century lamp (paid $4, sold for $28, toy dresser (bought for $10, sold for $22)
and vintage chalkboard sold (paid $8, sold for $29).
I was very surprised to take home the garden bench,
part of my personal things I am clearing out.

Great garden cart (paid $25, sold for $105), green pie cabinet (paid $50, sold for $130),
and old trunk all sold.
Sold almost $1400 in merchandise.

Last Weekend's Vintage Finds

Last Friday I went to ONE garage sale.  Normally I have to shop at about 10 garage sales to find something at one of them.  When I pulled in front of the  garage sale it was a bit sad looking. With most everything in the yard from the 1980s, at a very sad looking little house.  They mentioned they did have a few things inside ....

 Like FIVE 1913 era trophies.
(All sold at the Platte City Antiques Show.
Paid $20 for all, sold for $75.)

Like this little box of jewelry from Bejing.

Like a piece of Italian pottery marked Tiffany & Co.

Authentic? I don't know, but it is gorgeous.
You cannot tell a garage sale by it's cover.

Hand Carved Butter Print Molds

One of the benefits of setting up at an antique show is that
you get to shop your neighbors early.

I bought 17 antique butter stamps from another vendor.
They had been severed from their domes
and handles to serve as handle or pulls on cabinets.
Now these artistic little discs are ready for their next life.

The artistry of the carving is eye candy.

This one is my favorite border.

 All going on ebay.

This is my favorite,
and will get sold by itself.
Have you just seen 16?
I am keeping an acorn design for myself.
Sold all 16 for $120.

February 2017 Antique Show

Last weekend was the St Joseph Antique Show.
It is the only antique show that I do --
because it takes about a year to recover
and get ready for the next one.
Here are a few pics of my booth.

This year I did it by myself,
I had plenty of big items but missed Marcia's smalls.

This carved corner shelf was the last thing to sell.
I was kind of in love with it, so I wouldn't come down in price.
The little white primitive bucket on second shelf
was the first item to sell.

It is kind of hard to narrow down what was selling --
I guess I would have to say good quality primitives.

Almost all of the printed tablecloths sold.

Suitcases have been good sellers in the past,
not as good this year.

This must have been the "hot" area.
Round picture sold, green cabinet sold,
ironstone pitcher sold, blue
shelf sold, giant mason jar sold.

Overall I had very good sales,
sold $1476 before rent.

A Friend's Booth At The 2016 St Joseph MO Antique Show

My husband and I are privileged to be friends with a great local family.
The "patriarch" wanted to downsize his wonderful antiques collection somewhat.
I suggested that he participate in his first antiques show.

I was so busy taking photos of his cool
merchandise, that I missed taking a photo
of the sign in back of this twig table:
ALL PROCEEDS GO TO BACKPACK BUDDIES!

Every penny he made from the sale
will benefit a program which sends food home with
low-income children each weekend.

I am glad to report that his very first antique show
went very well and that Backpack Buddies
will be receiving a generous donation.

He set up right across the aisle from me,
so I was able to visit with he and his daughters when
things got slow.

These two fans had a baby brother,
which I am pleased to report went home with me.

I think we managed to make a small dent in
his downsizing goal...

but I wouldn't be surprised to see him set up again next year.

2016 St Joseph MO Antique Show -- My BOOTH

I participated in the St Joseph MO Antique Show over Valentine's weekend.  Decent weather and a great turn out!

Probably my favorite piece that I brought.  Still available
and probably heading to eBay.

A nod to the holiday.

Thank you Elizabeth for this exquisite box.

Fuelling was a St. Joseph MO bottling company.

Funky suitcase on hairpin legs,
it was fun to see how excited the new owner was to take it home.

Suitcases were a huge seller last year,
not so much this year.

My vintage shopping cart is also still available.

Love the patina on the dough bowl.

Blue Hearts & The End Of My Blog

Early on during the corona virus, I did this project. When we put scalloped wood trim on the guest cottage door, we had some of the trim ...
