Feather & Fur Flea Finds 8.11.2018

This weekend was the bi-annual Feather & Fur Flea Market.
Oh, there is "junk" there too, but this year the animals were the stars.
We are looking into miniature goats, so I was admiring Billy.

But then I saw these guys!  Swooon!
They were worth getting up for this morning.

Look at that cute little piggy face!
The guy says that get to be about 30 lbs,
I forgot what breed they were already.

Here are his friends!  Hot mess of cute.
Whew, I am still trying to get over them.

Remember we are packing up and moving cross-state
a week from today?
One more double washtub won't make a difference, right?
And I can use the three wire baskets for packing....

Vintage Curtains For Ebay

I recently picked up two really cool curtain sets.

The first set was actually in it's original speigel wrapper when I purchased them -- all three panel sets in original separate packages.  New Vintage Stock.  Another interesting factoid:  they are made of fiberglass.  What?

So I will be selling the SIX perfect curtain panels on ebay. Only sold for $20.

And if that wasn't fab enough, I picked up these vintage western cowboy curtains. Four valances, and
eight curtain panels. All in VG condition.  Wouldn't these be fun curtains in a little boys room?

They'll be joining the others on ebay.
Purchased for $6, sold for $103.

Flea Market Vintage Finds

I probably picked up two vanloads of vintage junk over the weekend.
Most came from the Feather & Fur Flea Market,
click here to read more about that.
Below is just a sampling of my vintage finds.

Garden Windmill (bought for $35, sold for $85)
and the silver water pump behind it.

AND a red water pump.  Almost had to keep him.

Two Jesus statues.
Large one I bought for $2, sold for $32.
Small Jesus I bought for $2, sold for $15.

Two of these gorgeous antique wire planter holders.

Ball Game sign, already sold!
Bought for $5, sold for $25.

Maybe my favorite of the entire weekend,
this homemade drawer piece.
Bought for $10, sold for $28.

Feather & Fur Flea 4.8.2017

We had a big junking weekend.  A nearby strip of highway had their sales and the bi-annual Feather & Furry Flea Market was Friday - Sunday.

We have had two straight weeks of rain and gloom,
so people were ready to get outside.
By the time we left, the parking lot was packed.
(I don't know why Tim doesn't look happier,
I bought a ton of stuff from him.)

My husband negotiating with his favorite seller.
Strip of grain bin scoops, were purchased for $15,
sold for $90.

 The super rusty sign said,
"Pony Express Reptile Gardens".
I didn't know we ever had such a thing in our area.

This is Gabriel with his dad.

Gabriel raised these peacocks,
and other kinds of birds.

I bought the Sunbonnet Sue quilt this lady was holding...
(bought for $15, sold on ebay for $50.)
and the blue one underneath it.

It is such a blast to see the variety of animals
and birds for sale. Buying junk is icing on the cake.

These cuties were saving their energy for the
pony rides.

I don't know if you can tell,
but I caught this handsome fellow mid-crow.

Probably because of Easter being in a few days,
bunnies outnumbered all other creatures.

Here is one of my favorite auctioneers,
out looking for a bargain.
I did alot of purchasing, but I tried to be very calculating with every dollar I spent.
You'll have to check back later to see some of my loot.

JUNKING OLYMPICS (Including Feather & Fur Flea Market) Vintage Finds 8.13.16

In my last post I mentioned the Saturday morning junking olympics we had,
click here to see some of the sights.
Two flea markets, an auction and a garage sale all under our belts before noon.
Mornings like this is why we eat our Wheaties and run all those miles
(and by we I mean just my husband.)
I've indicated which event we made the purchase from.

Auction -- gorgeous yellow and aqua plastic Firestone clock radio.
The clock part still works.  From the 1950s.

Auction -- nicely aged croquet balls.
The sport of croquet is about my speed.

Garage Sale -- I actually picked up SIX of these little
birthday angels, but two were imperfect.
These four will fly off to ebay.

Flea Market -- I found two of these, and my husband found two.
Then a friend came by with THREE more a couple days later.
I should win a gold medal for my pulley collection.

Flea Market -- I saw the seller driving to her spot and ran up and knocked
and her truck window.  "How much are the lawn chairs?"  SOLD!
I was the winner by just a few meters,
someone else had asked the same question before she ever got out of her truck.
One must be passionate and persistent !

Auction -- A trap of some kind.

Flea Market -- The guy handmade this who sold it to me.
I LOVE how authentic it looks.

Saturday Junking Marathon 08.13.2016

Saturday my husband and I managed to go to TWO flea markets, one auction, and a garage sale all before noon.  Unfortunately, I only snapped pictures at one of the flea markets.

These junking friends set up at the bi-annual market
that I lovingly call the "Fur & Feathers Flea".
Click here to see my adventure there in April.

They had this fun collection of seed thermometer's for sale.

Here is my husband making a deal with this rowdy crew.

There were even more "fur and feathers" on site than ususal.
These handsome fellows were selling for $20 each.

There were a wide selection of items for sale.
You'll have to watch for my next post to see what
I came home with.

Feather & Fur Flea Market Finds -- 4.15.2016

I went into this weekend knowing it was my second biggest buying weekend of the year.  That I needed to be well prepared, gassed up, plenty of cash...none of which happened.  Despite some amateurish slip-ups I still got quite a few good finds.

(I actually know all of the people that I got to pose for my photos this year.)
The newspaper I looked at advertised the small town "Swap Meet" for Saturday and Sunday.  I just happened to be travelling to an out-of-town garage sale Friday morning (not even super early) when I saw that most of the flea market was set up already!  ARGH!
They said that the vendors and Craig's List got the "correct" Friday morning start date.

This young man agreed to deliver my newly purchased "general store"
display case (resting under the blanket) to my vintage
decorator store location.
Yes, I bought the wire basket too.

This little cutie (the short one!)
was in my "fur, feathers & flea finds"
post from this flea market last fall (click here to see that post.)
(Click here to read the "fur, feathers & flea finds" post from last spring.)

As always, there was a plethora of farm
animals and birds to distract.

My husband chided me for the picture being
upside down, but I just purchased it for the frame.

Love the crusty animal feeders I find there.
I haven't found any quilts in quite awhile,
and this weekend I picked up three.
This X-stitch one is the only one I have a photo of.

Two great sets of antlers, homemade duck decoy
and aluminum cooler.  My aluminum coolers are
starting to accumulate.

We are crazy for croquet,
so loved the piece from an old box.

Most of what you are looking at will
become planters or garden décor.

I am going to (hopefully) take off these little metal
conveyer belt scoops and use as planters.

The basket upcycled from paper was purchased
by my mailman about an hour after this photo
was taken.  He does get first dibs, and great prices.

I don't know why these guys are lollygagging
around when there is so much pricing to be done.

Floor grates, so beautiful.

Stack of wonderful metal items.
What I REALLY needed were bigger pieces to
display on.  I picked up three dreamy ones.
Stay tuned for that post.

Blue Hearts & The End Of My Blog

Early on during the corona virus, I did this project. When we put scalloped wood trim on the guest cottage door, we had some of the trim ...
