Saturday's Vintage Finds 10.10.15

My husband and I had a quick and thorough junking morning last Saturday.

Paid $1, sold for $8.
First we hit a couple garage sales, which produced a couple of boxes of Christmas ornaments including these.

Then we went to a Tiny Town Saturday morning auction.  Which produced 100 vintage battery oil bottles, all of which had been "dug".  If you are not familiar with the term, it meant I had to hand wash each and every little bottle.

Sold 5 for $27.
But they turned out well.

We also snagged several jars of buttons,

Sold for $12 on ebay.
and a circa 1900 piano book with 12 full-page illustrations.

  1. I've never heard the term "dug" before, but I'd be willing to wash all those bottles too. I love mother of pearl buttons, great score on those! Thanks so much for sharing at Vintage Inspiration Party.

  2. What a gorgeous bunch of bottles! I went to a rummage sale this weekend and ended up hand washing a ton of glass too so I feel your pain.

  3. Nice finds, especially those "dug" bottles. I used to dig bottles with my father when I was younger--brings back memories :) We are starting a new link party today called Vintage Charm. I'd love it if you linked up some of your vintage posts. You can find it at Adirondack Girl @ Heart.
