On The Road During City-Wide Garage Sales

Our little town has a city-wide garage sale the first Saturday of June each year.
They have been doing it for over 25 years.
There are certain traditions attached to the event.
The one we find most startling is the vast array of "side by side"
vehicles that come out of the woodwork on this day.
It is hilarious.

150-200 garage sales take place in our small town.
People must have decided the best way to
maneuver through all the traffic was these little vehicles.

The people who own this collision shop said they are
always swamped on the following Monday because
of all the dings and dents caused by the heavy traffic on
Garage Sale Saturday.

Parking is at a premium,
so the smaller the better.

Law enforcement is instructed to ignore
the usual parking and vehicle restrictions.

Plenty of entertainment.

The weather could not have been nicer,
this is a great way to enjoy the fresh air.

Still the same problems with people on the phone.

Parking?  No problem.

Entire families squeezing in to these little things.

There is a ton of out-of-town traffic,
so no one drives very fast anyway.

Some are fancier than others.

Some look like they could go
cross country if they had to.

Just a great way to spend "Garage Sale Saturday"...

for man or beast.
I'll be posting some of my finds later.

  1. Oh I just love this. When we're at the lake these types of vehicles are what almost everyone has and rides around on. It's like a constant parade.

  3. I want to come and visit next year!! I think I'd have to buy a little vehicle of some sort just to use for that one day of the year if I lived in your town--lol. Thanks for sharing the experience with us at Vintage Charm :)
