Last Weekend's Vintage Finds

Last Thursday I visited my father in Nebraska,
(and managed to visit several garage sales as well.)
This was the coolest item I bought -- a large sterling silver pendant.
After research, I think the purple stone is called charoite.
I will be listing it on ebay.

Saturday we picked up items that I had won at a local on-line auction.
I got this rag basket for $2 and ....

this Watering Can for $6
(probably due to the bullet holes.)

  1. Great items. The watering can will still look good as a decorator item.

  2. You'll have to make up a tall tale about the bullet holes; I bet it could be a GREAT story! I bet some wife was very peeved that her husband and drunken buddies decided to use it for target practice! It is great decor! I've only seen rag bowls, never one that tall. Is it a keeper? Yarn storage? Waste basket?

  3. 50-100 years ago everyone threw anything they didn't want anymore into "the ditch". I have heard stories of great items which would have been salvagable decades later if they hadn't been used for target practice. That may have been the back story to this sprinkler can. I am keeping the rag basket for awhile, but still don't know what to use it for.

  4. Great finds--I love the rag basket! Thanks for sharing @Vintage Charm!
